PERSONAL HOME LIFTS CANBERRA FAQ's

Personal Home Lifts Canberra is the ACT Dealer for Compact Home Lifts, an Australian home elevators specialist who offer a range of domestic lifts that are unlike any other in the world.

The Compact Elegance has a footprint of just 0.62m2. This is one of the smallest footprints on the market for a residential lift.

A Compact Home Lift allows for an unrivalled flexibility in terms of placement. Due to the lift’s size, drive mechanism and unique dual rail supports, the lift can be put in numerous places throughout a home.

Never before have people had such freedom with a lift; we can simply go where other lifts cannot. The lift can be put in a closet, in the corner or even the middle of a room.

Yes. Personal Home Lifts are a great help to those with mobility problems, but it is also purchased by those who are able bodied and looking to future proof their homes.

This means you can have the peace of mind to continue to live a full life in the family home you love for many years to come.

In the event of a power cut to the home all Personal Home Lifts are equipped with a battery back-up facility. This is included as standard with the lift and will allow anyone in the lift at the time of power failure to gently descend to the lower level of the home, exit the lift, and wait until the power comes back on.

We also offer the option of an uninterrupted power supply. This system can be installed at an extra cost but will allow for numerous trips both up and down while the main power to the lift is out.

Personal Home Lifts are fitted with a self-closing, hinged door (doors come in both half height and full height options) that provides a physical barrier during the operation of the lift. The door locks will release when the lift arrives safely at the floor of choice.

Unlike conventional lifts, all that Personal Home Lifts require for installation is the appropriate aperture to be cut out and trimmed by a qualified builder. The work itself is minimal and not time consuming. There may be instances where small amounts of additional work may need to be carried out such as moving pipes but these will be managed by our building teams & lead builder.

Personal Home Lifts have safety sensors fitted above and below the lift car which detect obstructions and smoothly stop the car. The lift is also fitted with a full height light curtain which acts as a sensor and ensures nothing crosses into or out of the lift as it travels.

Personal Home Lift engineers are on call 24/7 in the event of a lift emergency.

GST is chargeable on all Personal Home Lifts but if you are disabled or have a long-term illness you may be exempt from paying GST on products designed or adapted for your own personal or domestic use.
